Social Emotional Learning
We at Campos believe all children and adults should be self-aware, caring, responsible, engaged, and lifelong learners who work together to achieve their goals. SEL is a powerful tool for creating caring, just, inclusive, and healthy schools that support all young people. This became more evident during the pandemic.
I began to infuse socio-emotional learning into daily curriculum across all classes to better support students as students continue to transition back into school amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. socio-emotional learning activities into their classes. Teachers are provided with additional Professional Development around SEL to better support students. More opportunities for student voice, a culturally responsive curriculum, and meaningful extracurricular activities to meet students SEL and academic needs in the classroom and in the broader school community are provided through our CBO.

To respond to the current migrant crisis I provided Saturday Academy to help students who are identified as SIFE to bridge the academic gaps. During Saturday Academy these students were provided with a one hour therapy session led by our guidance counselors Ms. Curtis and Ms. Salazar.
